Baclofen is a drug intended for the treatment of symptoms caused by multiple sclerosis – stiffness, spasm and pain. Baclofen may affect your reaction. Avoid driving or doing anything that can result in people getting injured as the result of your actions. Baclofen is not intended for patients younger than 12. Take this drug exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Do not take it in larger amounts as it is not going to make the treatment more efficient and can result in unwanted side effects. Your dosage may be changed to make sure you are benefitting from this medicine. You can take Baclofen with some food or without. You are supposed to feel the results of this drug within a 2-week period. Some of the side effects patients report include nausea, constipation, headache, insomnia, urinating more often, weakness, drowsiness and dizziness. Talk to your doctor before using this drug, especially if you have any allergies or particular medical conditions that may affect the treatment, including seizure disorders, a history of blood clots or a stroke, kidney disease. If your symptoms do not improve contact your health care provider. Do not stop using baclofen suddenly without previously talking to your doctor. A gradual withdrawal is required to avoid such symptoms as seizures and hallucinations.
